Hitch Skid with Recovery Point

Our Hitch Skid with Recovery Point is a must-have for anyone dealing with low ground clearance at the rear of their truck or SUV. This skid allows you to slide across inclines without dragging your factory hitch over rocks, trees, or trail obstacles. It works especially well on Toyota Tacomas, along with most other vehicles equipped with a 2" receiver hitch. The design is one size fits most, though some vehicles may require using different mounting holes or trimming plastic for a proper fit.

We manufacture each Hitch Skid from 2"x2" square tube with a 1/4" wall thickness. A 10"x10" 1/4" steel plate is fully MIG welded to the square tube, and our recovery clevis is welded directly to the plate and tube for maximum strength. The 2"x2" square tube features four different mounting pin holes, providing versatility across a variety of applications.

Every Hitch Skid comes standard with a recovery point. The clevis mount is .875" thick with a 1" bore, making it the perfect fit for a standard 3/4" shackle. This is our standard version, though we also offer a shorter option with a smaller plate and three mounting holes for those running a spare tire.
