This Top Load Washer Drain Pump removes wastewater from your top-load washer during the drain portion of the wash cycle. The pump is driven by the main drive belt, which also drives the transmission pulley. If your washer doesn’t drain properly, the pump may be clogged, damaged, or defective, and replacing it may alleviate these issues. Note that a defective pump may also cause a small leak to occur at the front of the washer. To access the pump, you'll need to remove the cabinet from the washer. The pump is attached to the drive motor. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools such as a multi-screwdriver, putty knife, pliers, and a socket with a ratchet.
