But even with the factory-installed valve on a brand new spa, there will be a small amount of leaking. This is normal. • The umbrella valve presses into the air inlet tube on the spa liner. It uses the exact same silicone umbrella valve that the spa uses, but moves it to the front of the tube for easy cleaning and service. It is not necessary to remove or replace the old umbrella valve at the back of the tube. The new one just stacks on top and provides the same function. It is compatible with both older spas (shallow tube) and newer spas (deep tube)
• IMPORTANT: The umbrella valve housing MUST be secured to the air inlet tube by connecting the heater/pump unit on top of it, as shown in the photos. If the housing is not secured and left unattended, it could become dislodged by water pressure and flood the area.
