Cyrus was one of the great military strategists of all time and we think an appropriate name with which to honor this chess set.&nbsp;All of the pieces are unique in their shape and have detail unlike any other Staunton chess set. The knight is artistically designed with elegant and intricate features that are meticulously hand carved including the eyes, nostrils, mouth, teeth and a flared mane which creates movement. The king is 4.4" tall and features an ornate finial that is unique from any chess set in our collection. The lathe work is extraordinary with compound collars and graceful precisely turned into the base of each piece.
